Burlington, Wisconsin, or Chocolate City, USA as it is often called, holds as much wonder and excitement as Willy Wonka’s factory. Quite aptly nicknamed, Burlington is home to the Nestlé Chocolate Factory and a number of chocolaty attractions sure to appeal to anyone. Plus, Burlington is the hometown of Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo.

With Nestle’s Midwest headquarters located here, it’s no surprise that Burlington places a high importance on chocolate. Each summer over Memorial Day Weekend, Burlington hosts its annual Chocolate Fest, a four-day celebration of all things chocolate, including tastings and eating contests.

Recreation is readily available throughout the community, including 16 lakes and rivers and 26 parks. Five golf courses are located in Burlington with Browns Lake Golf Course being pictured above. With a number of annual festivals to keep busy, such as the 3rd Annual Pumpkin Bowl happening later this month, it’s no wonder Milwaukee Magazine rated Burlington a Top Small Town in Southeastern Wisconsin.
