The mission of the Urban Ecology Center is to, “foster ecological understanding as inspiration for change, neighborhood by neighborhood.” With three different locations in Milwaukee, in Riverside Park, Washington Park and the Menomonee Valley, the Center is doing just that — providing experiences for children and adults alike to explore nature together. With more than 77,000 participants last year, check out some of the offerings that the Center offers:

  • The Neighborhood Environmental Education project, serving kids in more than 44 urban Milwaukee schools each year.
  • Young Scientist Clubs
  • Early morning birdwalks
  • Athletic events, such as the Riverside Trail Runners
  • And a variety of other classes and activities, including morning birdwalks, paper making and park pick-ups
