Festa Italiana, Milwaukee’s celebration of all things Italian, turns 35 years old this year.

From July 19–22, we can once again experience the festival which celebrates Italian culture — from ancient Rome to present day. The four-day extravaganza takes places at Henry Maier Festival Park, better known as the Summerfest Grounds.

A special attraction to look for this year is Rossella Rago, host of Cooking with Nonna, who will be hosting a cooking demonstration with a local Italian Nonna contest winner, Francesca Balistreri-Stryker. This event is being hosted at La Cucina on July 21 at 6:45pm.  For more information on all the delicious demonstrations that are part of La Cucina, check out the schedule of entertainment.

As always, there will be plenty of delicious food and bands at every stage playing a variety of music. From classically trained opera singers to local groups singing the hits and even an Italian dance troupe, there truly is something for everyone throughout the weekend. Country star Phil Vassar is also set to perform on the Spiked Island stage on Sunday night, June 22.

Don’t forget to stop by the annual Festa High Mass at the Marcus Amphitheater on Sunday, June 22 at 11am. Free admission is given to all those who attend mass, and the festival is asking for donations of canned food for the Hunger Task Force.

As a special admission promotion, those adults age 35 can enter the grounds for free on Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 3–5pm.  There are other special deals available here, and regular admission is $13 at the gate.
