Major League Baseball and its 29 clubs gather together once a year for the All-Star Game to see which league will triumph: National or American. Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals, hosts its 2nd and the city’s 3rd All-Star Game.
The schedule of events includes the All-Star Futures Game and All-Star Legends & Celebrity Softball Game on July 8th. Celebrities scheduled to attend include Mad Men‘s Jon Hamm, Kansas City native and Modern Family actor Eric Stonestreet, Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel and Glee‘s Chord Overstreet. July 9th is the traditional Home Run Derby, where former Milwaukee Brewer and current Detroit Tiger Prince Fielder will join the American League team. Current National League home run leader Ryan Braun will not participate.
June 10th includes the All-Star Red Carpet followed by the 83rd MLB All-Star Game, 7 pm CST on Fox. The National league has won the two previous years, but tune in to see if they keep the streak alive. For more up-to-the-date news and information, check out the Official All-Star Website.
